Applying Scientifically Validated Research to Achieve Effective Outcomes
Tara Armstrong, MAT.BCBA has a demonstrated history of successful collaboration with public school districts across New Jersey in developing, coordinating and consulting on research based programs to promote sustainable, invested and outcome oriented educational, behavioral and social classroom- learning communities.
Hourly or per-diem consultations offered to provide an opportunity to discuss goals regarding our collaboration. A summary of discussion as well as recommended written action plan/ suggestions are provided within twenty four hours of initial consultation.
Assessments provide an opportunity to objectively describe an individual's current demonstrated skill set and identify potential goals, learning objectives or suggested experiential opportunities. Assessments include: VB MAPP, ABLLS, AFLS (All Protocols), Social Thinking Assessment and Executive Function Proficiency Analysis.
Functional Behavior Assessment describes forms, frequencies and intensity of emitted behaviors and hypothesizes potential maintaining functions of the behavior based upon scientifically validated research and principals of applied behavior analysis.
Functional Behavior Assessment is the cornerstone of application of a behavior intervention procedure, learning action plan or analysis of progress.
Comprehensive services are offered which include evaluating the student's academic record, current placement and rate of progress. These reviews are completed with a focus on collaboration with all invested members of the team to achieve socially significant and achievable goals for the student.
As a BACB Authorized Continuing Education Provider participants in trainings and workshops receive continuing education units upon completion of workshop and continuing education trainings.
Tara Armstrong, MAT, BCBA brings with her over twenty years of experience in creating programs with public schools which incorporate the technologies of Applied Behavior Analysis. One of the goals of program creation and collaboration is to provide staff members the tools to strengthen their own skill sets and abilities with data driven decision making, behavioral support strategies and assessment systems. The Technologies of OBM (Organizational Behavior Management) are applied to support collaborative, enthusiastic and outcome driven professionals working toward a common goal.
Ms. Armstrong is a Level 1 Trained Social Thinking Clinician who utilizes Social Thinking Assessment to create successful social skills groups as well as applies Social Thinking Research, Methodology and Motivational Tools within program collaboration to maximize successful, well rounded and least restrictive programs for students.
Ms. Armstrong defines much of her professional work within the lense of provision of services in the least restrictive environment as informed by her Traineeship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Inclusive Education and Developmental Disabilities while completing her Master's of Arts in Teaching Degree.
